Adopt-a-Smile

The IMAGE Center of Maryland & VME presents “Adopt-A-Smile”!

Adopt -a- Smile is a new way to see your generosity in action. From start to finish you can receive emails and witness the direct impact of your donation on someone’s life.

We will share with you the journey. Letting you know which experienced team of engineers is designing the project, and when all is said and done the smiling faces of those whose life you made a difference.

All Adopt -a- Smile projects are fully funded by the IMAGE Center of MD and VME.

Adopt -a- Smile Projects

Stella

Meet 9-year old Stella.

Stella is a lacrosse athlete and plays with the Parkville Adaptive Lacrosse Team.  A VME team of engineers will be designing an adaptive lacrosse stick that will be part of her Alber e-Fix Power Assist Wheelchair.

Projected cost: $350

Amaya and her dad.

Meet 4-year-old Amaya and her dad.

Amaya is always willing to share a smile.  Amaya’s parents reached out to us to design a safety bed and seizure detection so that they know in advance when she will have a seizure at night.  VME has done a similar project like this in the past and looks forward to helping Amaya and her family.

Projected Cost: $500

Avaleigh

Meet 11-year-old Avaleigh.

Avaleigh has a challenge – she wants to swing independently like other children! She loves the fresh air, the wind on her face, and the sunshine.  But, she is unable to swing due to her disabilities.

Thankfully, VME volunteers will soon change her life!  A custom motorized swing is underway for her to use independently on her back porch.

Projected cost: $800 – $1500
